Instructions for uploading and downloading records from L of C :
1. in the site's home page, click on "Basic Search."
2. Type the appropriate information (title, author, ISBN, etc.) into the "Search Text:" field.
3. Select a "Search Type:" (by title, author, ISBN, etc.), then click "Begin Search."
4. Click on the title of the book when you. find it in the resulting list.
5. Go to the "Save, Print and Email" window at the bottom of the page and select "MARC format."
6. Click on the "Print or Save Search Results" button.
7. A. string of numbers will come up; this is what you want.
8. Go under "File," at the top left of the page, to "Save As."
9.In the "Save As" window, give the file a unique "File Name" and save as type "Text File"
10. Click “Save”; the file will be saved onto your desktop or disk.
Then, to catalog the records (in the Follett System), follow these steps:
1. Go under "File" to "Importing MARC records" (the first option).
2. Use "replace" instead of "skip," because it won't hurt anything if the record should happen to be there (this may not be necessary if you are sure the record doesn't exist).
3. Import.
4. For "Files of Type" at the bottom of the dialog box, select” "All Files" (if it isn't already selected).
5. Select (click on) the book you want to download, then click "Open."
